This delicate, dainty daisy pendant has been created using an exquisite piece of handmade antique Irish lace sourced from a local antique fabric specialist.
Traditionally lace is given on the 13th anniversary, its intricate detailing reflecting the intertwining of the couple's lives through 13 years of marriage.

Ivory coloured antique Irish bobbin lace encased in domed clear glass cabochons.
Sealed using the Tiffany stained glass technique.

The daisy, one of my favourite flowers, is a symbol of love, sensuality and fertility.
Its botanical name, "bellis perennis" translates as "beautiful flower".
In Norse mythology, the daisy is Freya's sacred flower. Freya is the goddess of love, beauty and fertility, and as such the daisy came to symbolise childbirth, motherhood and new beginnings. The perfect mother’s day gift or gift for a new mother.
